Each year since 1991, tens of thousands of activists from every region of the world have taken part in the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence Campaign. The campaign’s central messages – women’s rights are human rights and violence against women constitutes a violation of human rights – have been a rallying call of the women’s movement. Recognizing that violence against women affects people from every country, race, class, culture, and religion, the 16 Days Campaign provides an opportunity for activists to work together in solidarity and draw upon this period of heightened international attention to gain support for their local efforts.

Dia 6 do novembro, no Quênia, UNIFEM Diretor Executivo Inés Alberdi lançado Diga NÃO - Unite to End Violence against Women. A iniciativa de advocacia está agora a viver www.saynotoviolence.org - e pronto para levantar urgentemente necessários recursos. Aqui está como: Como você sabe, diga não vai contar e mostrar ação pelo fim da violência contra as mulheres. Hoje, relojoeiro OMEGA anunciou um desafio E.U. concessão $ 50.000 para os primeiros 50.000 acções registadas em Diga NÃO! A bolsa vai para as organizações no terreno a trabalhar pelo fim da violência contra mulheres e meninas.
 
Como apoiante de longa data, sabemos que você vai nos ajudar a enfrentar este desafio. Realce suas próprias ações no Diga NÃO e incentivar os colegas, amigos e familiares para se envolver, também. Obrigado a todos vocês que já contribuiu com ótimas idéias para as pessoas iniciativas podem começar, suas sugestões são destaque no site e vai inspirar outros a agir.
